Hi Laurent,
Can you forward details of modifications, any pictures etc and use to which you have used the lathe.
Are you still looking for circa £500?
Many thanks

Hi John,
All mods are electronic.
I removed the original control panel, replaced all the original electronic (exept the spindle control board) with modern drivers.
Added a BOB to connect to a standard Parallel port of a PC.
I'll post pictures ASAP. No problem!.
£500 still fine...

interested in this, I don't supose you have any video of it working and what it would be like cutting aluminium?

Hi Craig,
It does cut alluminium no problem... Unfortunatly I do not own any video camera... :-(
But then again, I am sure if you do a UTube search on Boxford 125TCL you'll find something! It is a very popular little lathe...
Here is one:

i've had a few of these lathes, and for their size they are very capable machines and will machine ally with no problems at all. Considering the amount of mods on this 125 it's a steal at £500.

How are you chap, i swapped this with you for the Sherline mill..
What did you do with the electronics?
Good look with sale, i would defiantly have this back if it were capable of bigger things

Yo! Cooliced!
I completely re-wired. Wiring was not good enough for me... found a few shorts here and there...
I also replaced the BOB and the spindle board. I could not get it to control the spindle under Mach3. Now the speed of the spindle is fully controlled by Mach3.
Also replaced the parallel cable, it is now properly solder to a connector. And replace the PC power supply with a proper one.
I'll post some pics as soon as I got time to flit it round and open the back... ;-)
PS: I had a lot of fun to take it from my upstairs bedroom to my ground floor workshop!

LOL ! Well, I'll wait a bit longer and if it doesn't sell here I guess I'll have to pay eBay fees and put it there...

I'd be sorely tempted but I have 3 CNC lathes already and this can't do any more than the ones I have. One thing in it's favour is that it's all working, only one of mine is, the other two need transplants.

Hummm, I like this little CNC lathe... I'd love to keep it, just My problem is space.
I have 2.40m x 1.60m in there I have a Boxford AUD lathe, a Boxford 260VMC mill, a Boxford 125TCL lathe, a pillar drill and all tooling...
Basically I can just fit between all this standing straight... :-)

eBay now have free listing weekends quite regularly - seemingly about every fortnight. Still going to get hit by the 10% final value fee though...
