Hi Guys,

Can someone tell if we can use a BT30 tool holder on our CNC? It currently has ISO30's er40 collects. We're a new company and iso30s are expensive and BT30's are slighty cheaper. Will the BT30's with the er32 collects work on our machine? It's an italian model CNC I can't really see the difference but I don't really know anything about CNCs, YET!!!!

I can not answer your question myself, but a quick google search found this post: CAT30 vs BT30 vs NMTB30 vs ???? (http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=12299.0)

Hope this helps.

I think the main difference is the drive dogs, as all the pictures I've found of ISO tooling don't have slots for drive dogs, whereas BT (and DIN) definetly have slots for drive dogs.

My usual source of spindle tooling specs doesn't list what's referred to as ISO tooling, other than the relevant ISO standard numbers for the other tooling (DIN, NMTB, and a couple others)
