Got given a machine that sat in a garage for a long while, trying to start it, help needed.
Never played with Mach3 cnc's so at this point just applying all i know from me being a cnc machinist at joinery shop (SCM/Morbidelli 430s) and owning couple of lasers (100W DSP CO2 gantry and 100W JPT MOPA engraver)...

Machine is run off of RoutOut controller with custom 2.5a drivers, nema23 steppers, UC100 motion controller (USB>LPT converter thing, genuine).
UC100 driver works fine, drivers get 24v on breakout (checked connection lugs at driver side) and driver power leds are lit, 5v supplied via usb charger, both indicator leds on breakout lit (5/24v).
Motor Dir/Step set to x2/3, y4/5, z6/7.
Riddled out endstops (reed switches) and estop pins, got them all to respond on pin12/13 and pin10 respectively (in mach3 diag).

But for the life of me i cannot make motors spin. When jogging DRO changes but no motion in motors.

I'm an absolute n00b when it comes to mach3 and hobby cnc machines. I'm sure i'm missing a lot, need help.
Starting mach3 profile from scratch, as no info was provided with the machine. Company that make these is most likely ded...

Just wondered what style of coupling most people use/recommend when connecting their stepper motors directly to the ballscrew end?

Looking at those available on the BST Automation store of AliExpress, there seems to be 3 distinct types... Disc, Flexible and Jaw.
I'm wondering which is preferred to prevent any possible backlash?
