I'm using solid cam, and i have parts to machine which are minute, the screen shot is what i get on solid verify and looks awful .the bit is down to 0.50 ball endmill if i try a smaller bit it looks even worse. the first screen shot is a section of the part and the other is what i see in solid verify.

How small is your stepover? You seem to be stepping over the whole diameter of the cutter by the looks of your graphics. For a ballnosed cutter you only need a stepover of 0.05-0.1mm.

sorry for late reply i was away. I have now changed a setting and the tool works great in it, the problem is i am not sure of the setting i have changed because when i repeat the operation with the same tool it misses a section again.
