Welcome to the forum Zerovis, this is undoubtedly the most helpful forum I've ever been on.
To make the most use of help available, it's sometimes worthwhile reading some other threads to get a feel of which approach works best.
It's best to let people know what your machining requirements are in a reasonable amount of detail such as size and material(s) to be machined.
Andy
Thanks Andy
At the moment , I would like to make a few small parts for My 3d printer , so aluminum will be the first thing I am looking at ,
However , I am sure there will be some things that would be better in brass or maybe even stainless.
I have seen a Denford Traic , which looks about the right size for my shed and seems to have a reasonable travel on the X,Y, and Z
Hi Zerovis,
Welcome to the community and thanks for joining!
A Triac sounds interesting, was you thinking about a Lathe or Mill ?
We've got quite a few Denford users, here are the links to our sub-forums for that brand: Denford Mills, Denford Lathes.
There will be other Denford Triac discussions in and around the forums, you should be able to find those using the forum search, its at the top right of this page, I need to do that myself and move them to the right location...so much to do never enough time!
Lee
Thanks Lee
In the end I will hopefully get both , but I think I will start with the mill
I will certainty check out the Denford sub Group
I have seen one or two serious looking refurbs ,
Great I was going to suggest that, you can then use everything you've learned about cnc to design and fit the lathe build.
Keep us posted, I look forward to seeing your progress and as such I'll keep an eye out for any questions/post's you make along the way.
