New member from W.Sussex

Hi, all!

I'm an engineering student from West Sussex who is really keen on getting into CNC stuff. I've got some experience with Solidworks under my belt and have just started to have a tinker with Fusion360. I'm currently eyeing up one of the Shopeka kits and currently teaching myself some more Fusion360.

Any advice you fine bunch would give to someone who has exponentially more enthusiasm than experience? I'm looking at building electric guitars and such to begin with. I've got a bunch of 2D plans, I'd plan to scale them up to size, do the CAD for them and transfer them to CAM. What could go wrong, eh? :pride:

Welcome to the forum ChunkyMunky.
Don't buy anything just yet, have a look through some of the build logs first, there's loads of ideas in them. There are a few guys on the forum that have a similar interest to yourself, check out washouts threads.

As i recollect the guys have files for a Fender that they are willing to share.

The cnc machine in the video is now just a memory (with the exception of the computer, breakout boards and microswitches you can see!). I'd like to build a rip-off of the Kiesel ZA6 headless guitar with the new improved machine but have to finish a few other projects before I start on that one.
