HTD5 or SC8M pulleys and belts

Quick query, as I await my ballscrews from Fred.

I need to get 2:1 reduction on my servos to ballscrews, and getting information on tooth profiles is a bit of a bear. Gates GT profile seems theoretically ‘best’, and the Beltingonline SC8M seems like it’s compatible. But the pulleys and belts are quite a bit bigger, heavier and a touch more expensive than say an HTD5 setup - question is, is the HTD5 setup good enough? Wood and very incidental light metal machining is the idea.
