ATC Adapters (Mechatron)

Hi all

I know the likely response to this post (assuming there will be some), is that adapters aren't as good as the real thing. I agree!

But how bad or good are they?

I would also like to know how much work + added costs go into performing this conversion (although I suspect that's a thread for a different part of the forum?).

I currently run a:

1x Huanyang 400HZ ER20 80mm 2.2kw water cooled spindle
1x Huanyang HY series VFD spindle drive (although I don't expect an adapter to interfere with that since it runs off the initial spindle)

I assume there will need to be some software situation which tells the spindle to go to the tool change area etc...

I use UCCNC software. (it's a JazzCNC machine).
