Rat RIG Killer bee 1500mm x 1500mm FOR SALE £2000

I am selling my Ratrig 1500 mm x 1500 mm Killerbee CNC machine

I bought the machine around 3/4 years ago from Ratrig in Portugal and imported it to the UK.

The Ratrig is a big step up in quality from the UK made Ooznest CNC machines.

It uses linear rails and bearings, which are far superior to the wheels the cheaper Ooznest CNC uses.

Plus, there is a stiffer and sturdier chasis and overall a much better machine.

It was a long learning curve building this machine, especially programming the VDF.

I will list and explain what's included, but it's ready to go, except for an extraction/vacuum unit for the dust, im keeping that for a future machine.


1. The main Ratrig Killerbee aluminium extrusion frame with lineer rails and bearings and lead screws, all Nema motors, all wired up, ready to go.


2. A water cooled spindle with all tubing and water pump and tank. Most people fit their spindle with one clamp this has 2 x 65mm clamps for a stiffer fixture. The spindle is whisper quiet, not like a router some people use. A custom dust boot which i imported from the USA, which attaches with magnets for easy removing when you change cutters, etc, and a length of hose also. No extraction unit is included. You just need a workshop vacuum or similar.


3. A British made Invertek VFD as the spindle is 3 phases all programed ready to go, which can be a bit of a nightmare to program. I did look at the Chinese VFDs but they are even worse to program unless you can speak Manderin and have serious reliability problems, so I bought the more expensive "Made in the UK" Invertek VFD All the sheilded, ferite cores wiring plus a metal electrical box to house it all.

I have it all set up so the controller controls the VFD. So when you select your cutter to use it automatically runs the spindle at that speed, so for instance if you pick a 30mm surfacing cutter it will alter the speed of the spindle for that cutter at a lower speed. So, there's no need to touch the VDF at all it's all automatic.


4. The whole machine is run from an Openbuilds controller and power supply, fantastic controller with lots of backup and forums if you ever want to change anything.



5. An Open builds XYZ probe for setting your XYZ. it's the new version that lights up.

6 A custom control panel which i built to have easy access to turning on everything. It has two emergency stop buttons, one for the VFD and one for the CNC, plus coloured extraction/light/water pump/Compresser buttons.

7. A torsion table top which i have it fixed to. Which operates on rollers to pull it out (as i have it in an enclosure, the enclosure is not included)

But you're more than welcome to take the table top, which is 1600m x 1600 mm and around 100mm thick.

8. Also included is a PC running Windows 11 with two 21.5 monitors. I have one set up over the machine, which is great when you are jogging the machine and the other outside the enclosure so you can watch progress without having to stand over the machine.

Plus, a handheld wireless keyboard, which i use for jogging and selecting programs, etc.

So it's all ready to go. Before buying this machine, I never really knew what a CNC was.

Fast forward 3 years, and im building guitars with a push of a button.

A great opportunity to start a new business or career.

Of course, you can buy files to cut online on places like etsy, but it's more fun designing your own in free programs or paid software such as Vectric, which is excellent and is not included

Im selling because I've decided to go into semi retirement from my present job and take up cnc/guitar building full time.

Im a bit pushed for space, so I have decided to buy a smaller machine as that's all i need for guitar building and gain a little space in my home workshop.

As i said I built this from the kit from Ratrig, so know the machine like the back of my hand, so can help by Whatapp to get it installed or maybe come round and help if your local if you encounter any problems.

It would be collection only, but i own a van so could help deliver if needed.

I think at least the spindle would need to be removed for transport.
