I am a retired engineer /physicist mainly interested in microprocessor development. I have always been fascinated with CNC machines and lately decided to build a CNC router. I started by studying step motor driver hardware and have some prototypes of my own design which I am presently debugging. I am working on a 3 axis CNC router with the intent of simplicity and easy construction. The design will use a gantry, be 24" by 30", use plastic linear bearings and 1/2-10 acme drive screws. A website is in the works which will include this CNC design, as well as, microprocessor development techniques.
