New member in Cambridgeshire
Hi,
While I'm an experienced software engineer and have done hardware control in the past, I'm just starting out building my first CNC project. I intend to use it for carving wood, plastic (model making) and aluminium if possible.
A year or two ago I bought a load of stuff on eBay from a guy who had the same idea but never finished his machine. I got four leadscrews with nuts and three pairs of ground bars with linear bearings... not bad for £50!
Since then I have slowly been designing and building the first incarnation of the machine. I am on a shoestring budget, so I won't be buying $1000 drivers or spindles.
Regards
Phil
