Hi from Southend-on-sea, UK

Hi,

My names Darren and I'm just starting to get into the cnc world. I'm looking to build my first cnc soon but needing help in getting started. Mainly I want something capable of machining small aluminum(T6) parts mostly for my car projects, probably no bigger than 30mmx30mm sort of size workarea.

I'm a computer programmer/software developer by trade so not that knowledgable when it comes to this sort of thing but I can turn my hand to anything and am willing to learn. I don't have any fancy workshop tools, just a drill press and plenty of automotive and day to day/diy tools.

Certainly seems to be lots of useful info on here so looking forward to getting something knocked up.
