Super X1 Y axis noisey in one patch
When I jog my Y axis from end to end there is a patch in the middle where the table/screw make a grinding noise but it still travels and motor is not loosing steps. Its the same area each time but it doesn't make noise to the same extend on its way back. What needs adjusting?
Re: Super X1 Y axis noisey in one patch
Have you put any lube on it ?
Re: Super X1 Y axis noisey in one patch
its dripping with lube, plus this happens only over a few centimeters on the Y.

Re: Super X1 Y axis noisey in one patch
yes, but exactly the same shape is used as an accurate slide mechanism. I suppose he should have said 'slacken the gibs' as they are the plates that control the loading on the dovetail... see pic

More info on your machine will definitely get people going in the right direction.
This question is like asking
" I have a blue car here so will these wheels fit on it? "
Not a lot of info.
Is it recirculating ballscrews?
What type of drives are you using ?
Do you have ballscrew lead screws or acme thread with anti-backlash nuts
You need to give a lot more info so we can correctly diagnose the problem
