A newbie from Sheffield

HI Guys,

I'm Matt and ive been lurking around the forum for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and get a profile. I'm from Sheffield so if your around me feel free to send me a message, I'd love to know if their are any groups or such in the area.

Interested in using CNC for furniture design and prototyping. I have a background in consumer product design and CAD (SW) but i'm not an engineer so hoping to learn all about that side from you guys.

My aim for the year is to get a basic Home Built CNC machine built (N.B haven't got specs decided on yet).

I'm just over in Crookes (S10) so not to far away from you Ian, Can i ask did you build your own CNC? If so it would be great to see what you came up with.

Hi Matt im Eamonn i work in attercliffe. Routers are good for furniture design? I had years of using cnc routing machines, i miss working them.
