Many thanks for the doc.
Indeed it's a continuity type so all is working.
The manual doesn't cover how to centre the probe.
I have about 0.07mm offset.
What's the method for correcting ?
Page 6 suggests that there is no intended adjustment, but that does not mean that it's not possible (check for runout on the arbour first, just in case).
The adjustment if any, is probably internal and used during assembly.
Seems to use the workpiece and machine to complete an electric circuit on contact, so be aware that it won't work on plastics, wood etc. Should be decent quality though!
It is indeed built very well, much more sturdy than my existing one.
Yes, it's only usable on conductive materials.
I'll have to check the run-out on the collet to find whats contributing to my error.
Just had time to have a close look at my probe.
The top plate (that has the arbour attached), is fixed to the main body by 3 screws.
With these 3 screws loosened off, just enough to allow movement, but not "rattling loose", the main body can be adjusted independently of the top plate and arbour, until the probe tip clocks true, then re tighten the screws.
i saw the 3 screws
there is a set top and bottom
and the body seems to be 3 sections pancaked together
but mine seems to have got it self very much stuck together.
As this is an old thread this is a long shot. I have acquired a Mitutoyo 902329 probe in first class condition.
Nick952 kindly scanned and uploaded the manual but the link reveals the file has been deleted. If Nick952 or
anyone reading this has a copy of the manual, I would much appreciate a copy.
I think I saw this on HW website yesterday(?).
Be aware (as noted previously) that this relies on conduction to the workpiece. Also, the overtravel seems rather limited.
Like you, I couldn't see a manual out there beyond an old brochure - page 31 https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/re...ca-corporation
