Re: Yet another Denford for the collection (Triac Retrofit thread)
Anyone that is running on single phase
What did you do re coolant pump?
Swap motor? Capacitor a phase to run single phase? Or install a vfd?

Re: Yet another Denford for the collection (Triac Retrofit thread)
My Triac was a single phase machine, so the coolant pump wasn't an issue.
A new pump would probably be the most reliable long term option though.

my triac is a single phase version and when the coolant pump when i popped the above striaght in. check the length though as cant remember what it is

Re: Yet another Denford for the collection (Triac Retrofit thread)
Ok - re coolant pump
Seems to work fine as single phase if wired delta- using just L & N
Using a run capacitor of 8uf. Starts fine, runs quiet and straight up to speed
:-) only had to cut a small notch in the wiring box to bring the capacitor cables out of.

shows a quick explanation of converting suds motor to single phase.
note the spin direction was wrong so i reversed it by moving the wires around- correct in video
