Machine for sale queries and help

Hi hope you are all well during this terrible time. I am currently helping my grandma empty my grandad workshop who sadly passed away recently to give her a little more space. There are currently some very large machines 1 large Bridgeport series 1 milling machine with lots off tools and a heidenhain screen thing on it . A Colchester bantam 2000 also with lots off tools . 2 fobco half cap drills . Harding's lathe one was reconditioned if I remember correctly with a acu-rite machine attached to it which my grand proudly told me how amazing it was several times. Another hardinge lathe that's is similar but without the acu rite thing and a George Alexander machinery drill or milling machine and plenty off other bits. I was wondering if anyone could recommend where the best place to sell such machines or has any information they could give?

Ebay is one option, but expect lots of tyre kickers, and people to turn up with little idea on how to move the machines.

Ebay is good to get an idea on values, if you search completed listings.

Other options are the home workshop classifieds ( https://homeworkshop.org.uk/ ), or Model Engineer classifieds ( https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/classifieds/ )
Just make sure you get get some good photos, and highlight that it will be up to buyers to move the machines.

Then there is the other option of selling to a dealer, who will likely offer you next to nothing for everything, but they will remove it all.

I've personally got no idea on values, but the Bantam looks to be a fairly modern one.

The Hardinge lathes are among the finest machines of the period. Take a look at lathes.co.uk for more info. Looks well-equipped so not to be sold for a pittance! Really nice machine.

Hi Phil, sorry to hear about your grandad. An important bit of info is whereabouts in the country you're (or at least the workshop) is based? There are also various used machinery dealers - which will be less work but less money of course. lathes.co.uk also has a classifieds section and tends to appeal to home workshop people.
