Re: Kress 1050 FME router
is the asking price right - u bought it for £160 and now its second hand and you are asking £165
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
Hi
It's not been used yet in production. So i don't class it as second hand.
It also comes with a router mount and an extra collects, these alone at there cheapest i think will cost you £60.
thanks
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
So it's got a full years guarantee ?
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
Correct me if i'm wrong but the kress units come with 10 years guarantee. I think I mentioned this in the above post already.
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
guarantee isnt worth a carrot tho - as mine is only 6months onld - and fit for the bin - thanks for the info rbs but i think ill get a new one for £5 more

Why not the water cooled spindle? You've seen first hand how Kress router's wont last...
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
i am going to get one of those next month - but i have lots of customers waiting and i need one now to atleast get me going again - i managed to get one for £136 plus vat and £8 postage
all the water cooled seem to be from china - and the ones that say they in the uk, want £100 postage - so that means they in china,..lol

You could well get it in under a week from them. I ordered a VFD from one of those sellers and it came within a few days.
If you're desperate:

Make sure you get the one with ER20 collets not smaller.
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
Hi well that's good for you but I am sure someone will see the benefit in not having to finance a router mount etc.
also it sounds like you might have been pushing the kress router too hard as this is the first report i've heard out of about 20 that the kress has failed on them.
the only other report i can remember was of someone who was using it to cut aluminum when kress is branded as wood router..also one of the reasons I upgraded is that without any cooling jacket its not really a good idea to have your router on for continuous periods:S
why don't you return it to Germany and inform kress of your break down?
Re: Kress 1050 FME router
SOLD..
So mr swinds.
anyone who can't claim the vat back on your argument would be looking at spending £165 inc shipping
So plus my collets and mount at lets say another £60 - £80.. giving your route a price tag of £225...
i would say take better care of your equipment mate.

I would say it's irrelevant since (at the time of writing) you can get a proper water cooled 2.2kW spindle intended for use on a CNC router with a full set of collets and VFD for about £250.
That will get you more power, lower runout therefore higher accuracy, bigger range of cutter diameter (0-13mm), longevity, much higher rigidity and lower noise.
To me any of one of those advantages (except noise) is enough to make up for spending £25 more.

Lot of inflated postage is actually fee avoidance , as a seller pay ebay 10% of final value but not on postage costs.
Had a few Chinese items, including 3040 mill, shipped from some fulfillment warehouse in Portsmouth, guessing they may be held in bond and pay the duty when they sell, important to note I didn`t get charged any extra duty and items arrived within few days.
Cheers
