Which is the best software to use to produce fonts ready for cutting on cnc ?
What you wanting to do with your fonts, engrave them in or cut them out?
The totally free to use SprutCAM 7 Express has the ability to produce text using any installed Windows font or it's own stroke fonts. You can then machine this using the 2D Contouring or Pocketing operation.Quote:

Cambam lets you use any font on the pc, I just tried it last weekend.....I used a pocket then profile operation rather than the engrave option (probably the wrong way, I am just learning this stuff)Quote:

That's a case of trawling through the available fonts for something suitable, you've seen it in good detail and so will be best placed to pick one,Quote:

Oh man inkscape is great for fonts. Its openSource.
You can fit text to a curve. This allows text around a circle.
I'd post a pic...but can't figure how.
I figured it out.
After you do "fit text to path", you can also adjust each letter individually for the spacing (kern) or vertical offset. This is good so letters don't touch each other or the circle:
