Its the typical . If you are happy with the seller and the price. Werent there some that ship from UK?
I just received that same spindle from that same seller today.
I bought the spindle only, and don't have any way to run it right now.
Shipping was very fast. From Hong Kong on Monday to my house in Michigan on Wednesday. Packaging was marginal, but it arrived intact.
First impressions:
Turns very smoothly. Feels solid.
Spindle taper grinding is on the rough side. High end spindles have a near mirror finish on the taper. This one was ground with a rougher grinding wheel. Most handheld routers have a smoother taper than this. Not sure if it will have any effect on runout.
Fit and finish isn't perfect.
You definitely get what you pay for. This is the lowest priced 2.2Kw spindle I've seen, which is why I bought it. A friend of mine has a 2Kw Teknomotor spindle. I can buy 4 of these for the price of his.
Are you getting those directly from Chai?
The cheapest I see on Ebay is about $350US, or £230.
Air cooled tend to be a little more.
I paid £133 delivered for the air cooled spindle only.
No just off ebay there are several look here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...indle&_sacat=0
£214 is the cheapest one there. A bit more than £185.
And it's the same one that's £230 on the US Ebay site.
Strange it should be differant to what I'm seeing from same link but to prove I'm not inventing prices here's a screen shot. Check time and date on my PC.!!

Maybe it's different because I'm in the US. That listing you just posted shows £183.99 + £300 shipping.
Regardless, I think I got a fair price. I didn't want the Chinese VFD, and I wanted air cooled.
Can you tell me if you've seen the rough ground taper (probably just turned?) on any that you've used, and if so, was it still acceptable in use?
Got one here now that is new unused and it looks ground and very smooth. Not polished mirror finish but very smooth. Never had any trouble with tapers or runout on any i've bought. They certainly match or beat any router I've used.
Here's some pics taken with my phone so not best quality.

That looks much better than the one I just got. My Porter Cable routers have much smoother tapers.
I'll post a picture when I get home from work.
After taking a closer look today, the taper is actually better than I thought. I took this with my camera in macro mode, so it shows things you don't really see with the naked eye.
Running my finger inside the taper, it is actually not bad at all, and better than it looks. What it really needs is a thorough cleaning.
I'm satisfied with the purchase, and will buy from this seller again.
