Hi, does anyone have a dimensioned drawing of a suitable holder for the kress spindle. It doesn't have to be to detailed, as I only want to use it to ensure my router design will allow the spindle to go slightly beyond the end of the bed.

Surely someone must have a 3d cad file of the kress, i need one as well!
Found one on Google Sketchup but can't export it to a format that will work in my CAD package.
I hate guessing.....!
Thanks for the input. I managed to scale a drawing that was posted on the g code section.
I have been trying to develop my design but I keep thinking that I should start from the tool and work back through the Z axis, and then the X & Y and finally the frame.
Jim,
There is not much to one.
It needs a 43mm hole, some method of clamping, it also need the hole far enough out so the body of the Kress doesn't foul the Z axis and not all Kress's are the same.
I have a couple of early single speed ones and they are far bulkier than the modern 800 watt ones.
Where it fastens in relation to the Z axis as regards length sticking out depends on the design of you Z axis or will rely on a sub late or a cranked Kress bracket.
I can do a drawing and take some pics of the one I have just taken off my router if that will help you but it will have to be later as I'm off out at the moment.
.
Thanks John that will help.
Looks like a shiny bog-seat
Jeff:wink:
Sorry a bit late but here the one I made.

5" across the bottom as a guide.
I have taken it off to run the air cooled high speed spindle to do some testing.
