Nope, genuine query as I have never used the CS Labs gear and some of the Chinese controllers can do 0 -10v and step and direction.
Personally if it were mine I'd go the IP-A route as I'd not thought of that solution.

Servos are +/-10V not 0-10V.
0-10V are typically for speed control for spindle and these controllers.
I have a few stand alone controllers from China and they are all step and direction.
Not seen one that is fully closed loop with the encoders going back to the controller, so if you know of one, can you link it?
Also there are stepper drivers that will accept +/-10V as well, so if you need another axis on the CSMIO/IP-A you can use a stepper motor, but it needs to be closed loop with an encoder fitted, so will not be much lower price than a servo.

Oh ye Sorry forgot your official title is Old B''####d. . Lol
Well I've not seen any, well any that are affordable anyway. Likes of your Siemans etc may well but they are very expensive. Also think you mean +/-10v not 0-10v different animal.
Yes course can if got spare axis but John asked if IP-A could output Step/dir as well which it can't.Last edited by JAZZCNC; 05-07-2016 at 04:25 PM.

With a KFlop & Kanalog it's possible to use both +/-10V and step/dir, however to use the step/dir outputs you have to sacrifice Kanalog encoder inputs.

Mix and match.
There are 8 encoder channels (actually 16 differential inputs on the Kanalog - they're not solely for encoder inputs), which at KFlop level means 16 inputs, but those 16 inputs are actually general purpose IOs which also provide the Step/Dir outputs.
4 of the encoder channels go through a separate RJ45 (Ethernet style connector) cable to the Kanalog, with the other 4 being in amongst the main 26pin ribbon cable with all the other signals. If you only need 4 encoders, you can simply make up your own cable to take 4 sets of Step/Dir signals from the RJ45 connector on the KFlop. Otherwise you have to start splitting cables depending on how many encoders and Step/Dir signals you need.Avoiding the rubbish customer service from AluminiumWarehouse since July '13.
