A friend showed me some FB-2 bits he knew I would want and casually mentioned that he needed a Unimat milling head modifying for CNC use on his Emco CNC Lathe (kind of like a CNC Micro-Mentor).
This is what I came up with,
the column is 01 Tool Steel turned to fit the head bracket, the two sections machined away are to allow quadrant shaped gib strips to drop in, the ally plates top and bottom ensure the gib strips move exactly with the head. You think that's too expensive? You're not a Model Engineer are you? :D
