One of my Sixth-Form Physics teachers spent a double period gluing his Hillman Avenger rear lamp back together with Chloroform, he did dissolve a little perspex in it before use but didn't explain why, you were hard pressed to see the joins after he polished it.
I bought a bottle of Perspex-specific adhesive off eBay a couple of months ago, it's mainly a vile solvent with, I'm guessing, a little perspex dissolved in it?
