Thread: Scissor lift for my garage

Hi all,
I’m here to get some ideas to buy a scissor lift that will fit in my garage. My garage is under renovation and needs to find a scissor lift for bike garage soon. I need to consider some elements before bringing this scissor lift to my garage. It shouldn’t consume much space in my garage. Because I’m also planning for a workout area within this space.
What is your opinion on buying a used scissor lift? Is there any problem using an old one. I have heard that there are different kinds of scissor lift for different purposes. Which one would be perfect for my garage? Please advise. Waiting for your reply.
Thanks in advance.

Depends on the bike you are lifting. MX bikes can use a really small and simple stand as the cradle frame supports under the bike. Sportbikes would need a full lift, though you then can't take wheels off easy, and suspension can be harder to work on.
Have you seen the ABBA sky lift - it uses the swingarm pivot, and can be moved round the garage easy.
My mate had one for his R1, and I was very impressed.
