    Would anyone have any recommendations to any possible further modifications that may benefit it at all or anything I maybe doing wrong with this design?
    How about dumping the gantry plate and putting some alu profile 90x45 across instead the ends of the profile will tap to M12

    Well I'd lose 25mm of X travel and I wouldn't really get any benefit from it on such a small machine.
