Thread: FREE PIC Burining Service
-

As we are all hobbyists here, I would like to offer a free PIC programming service for those that do not have the equipment to do so.
I am a software engineer and part of my hobby is programming PICs (using the C language) for the model aircraft world.
All you need to do is send me the chip and an SAE to return it in. Then email me the hex code to program (I may be able to supply the PIC if required).
Please note that this service is free and as such I accept no responsibility, financial or otherwise, relating to the programming and subsequent use of the chip.
I reserve the right to cancel this offer at any time.
Geoff.

Just in case Geoff gets swamped or has a break I can also provide programming from compiled hex.
I dont have adapters for all the SMT types there are now but its worth an ask.
I can recommend the Mikroelectronica EasyPIC developement boards if anyone is interested in giving PICs a go, loads of examples and the board has loads of useful peripherals onboard. The compilers (C, Pascal and BASIC) are free up to 2k code size and cheap for the full version. My board cost about £55.
PS I can also read and burn serial EEPROMs and the like.Last edited by rinderpest; 18-05-2009 at 02:07 PM. Reason: Left out EEPROMs
