    An Intel atom based system would cover what you need regarding running Mach3, LinuxCNC and so on, sniff one out on eBay...

    I would keep the machine's PC as just that, exclusive to it. Treat yourself to something else for the desk and messing about on, 48 hours into a job the last thing you want to do is mess up a job from using the same system to do other things...
