Hiya,
I'm looking to upgrade my x axis linear guides. I currently use v-groove wheels throughout, which had been totally fine for a machine built for foam carving and plasma but too much movement for more resistant materials.
The machine is quite unusual in that it has 600mm of x axis travel and my question is which is best and least expensive upgrade to take out the slack. I'm currently looking at Chinese clone MGN 15mm rail and blocks but can look at the HIwin clone if that extra stiffness is required. I guess I should also be looking at preloaded bearings, not sure if the chinese MG clone series come with any preload grades.
Thanks
ps i'm also intending to build a deeper Y axis gantry and replace the Y & Z carriage mount plates with alu plate
