Also I'm using quite a large toroidal transformer as I've got 4 motors to power, does anybody use inrush current limiting, as there are some nice looking 16A Sedlbauer current limiters on eBay at the moment for £30. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am using inrush current limiter, I think it's a MUST have with toroidal transformers. If you have a mains fuse of 16A then you can use that one, but if your mains fuse is smaller then you should use a smaller one.
