Mikini were reasonable machines for their price.
I can't remember the exact details, but IIRC the basic machines were designed/built in China for Makini who were a US company and specced the final details. Makini did stop trading, and I think the main reason was they priced machines a bit too cheap, and the cost of support killed them.
I'm aware Defeng (main person behind SkyfireCNC) was involved with them, and ultimately Skyfire came into creation after Makini failed.
If it wasn't for the lack of BT spindle, I would not hesitate to buy one, as they are quite a capable machine, and were built with pretty generic parts.Avoiding the rubbish customer service from AluminiumWarehouse since July '13.
