Good afternoon

Only just breaking into the world of CNC and trying to learn as much as possible. im especially interested in rather large wood carvings (approx 1m x 700mm) and would like to know of most suitable software at a hobbiest level on a budget.

Can you post some examples of what you want to do?
"Large Wood Carvings" can mean many different things.

Do you want to create complex 3D models?
Or just create toolpaths for existing models?
Or will you just be carving lettering and simple 3D shapes?
