Hello Frank,
I have built a 1000x800 CNC router. I can share my design and comment on my experience with it.
What sort of work would you like to do on your router. Knowing the materials you wish to cut and the style of jobs will help me and others to help guide you.

Hello
the materials will only be alloy,to make parts for quarterscale cars.
The firts picture are the cars i made ten years ago
i did have a machine ten years ago and did sell it.
now i want to build a new machine and the size will be 1000x800.
i did make some big scale cars and have some more ideas to make new ones.
i do want to male a router for these cars and want to know which is better a steel frame or alloy extruded
i allready have made a z-axle
i also want to make it low budget.
i used china linear rails and china closed loop steppers and drivers.
i do believe these parts will do for what i want to use the router for.
The old machine was a bad design and i did make the full cars on the first picture with it
i do have cnc experience for 32 year as miller and turning.
i am good in solidworks and solidcam amd did get the most certificats for it.
i did switch career this year and i do teach kids in the age 13 /14 years at school in the technicals skills.
sorry for the dutch english

Hi Frank,
They are very interesting cars, I'd like to look at the design in more detail sometime.
I too use SolidWorks on a daily basis. I use Fusion 360 for CAM. Used to use HSMWorks inside SW.
I would suggest not to use an aluminium frame if you are thinking of machining those aluminium parts. Not enough mass or rigidity especially over 1000mm travel.
What's the travel on your X axis? Do have a spindle design in mind?

What is your email and what version of SolidWorks do you use. I'll send my design and I can explain what's good and bad about it. It might help with your design.
