Do you know if the encoder below are quadrature type?

Would you recommend to follow this route to a newby or the risk of failure is too high?

I would guess that is a quadrature output incremental encoder, however searches have not found any manuals for a 755 encoder.
How many wires does it have?
Ideally you want encoders with differential outputs, which means you're looking at a minimum of 6 wires (+V, Gnd, A-, A+, B-, B+), plus possibly an index pulse (Z-, Z+).

Everything has the potential for failure, but provided you're willing to learn, then most things are possible.

Here is my Rye MG3000 which we acquired about a year ago. I am currently doing a full rebuild and retrofit of the control systems, moving to a DSPMC/IP, keeping the original Servo amplifiers and Tachometers in place. There is a lot of work in it!

Here I’m with some updates;

all new electronics and motors;

Today I worked on some stuff mainly for safety;
- plaque to allow the motor to sit perfectly flush on the Cnc frame (there is a 2mm step on the moto housing)
- cover for the power supply, so that the risk of touching the 220v cable is lower;
- case for the BOB (not my design)

I’ve also made a mask so that the new motors will be perfectly centered respect the old motors.
