It depends on what you want really. The gain will be double the feed the cost will be lower resolution and torque. However, if you have a motor that can handle it then the extra speed can really help with 3D work.! . . . horse for courses really.
I actually fit 10mm on my router machines these days but I always connect screw and motor with a belt and apply a ratio, it allows flexibility.
