If it's basically OK it might be a quick way to get it going; if it's rather ill then going the Jazz route might be cheaper?. I nearly bought a 1290 about 1 year and a bit ago, that had all custom (i.e. made by Pacer) electronics, a Nema34 stepper driving the long axis via a ballscrew (look underneath to see it), that also had a Win 98 PC, seemed to be custom Pacer machine control software.
