    OK having a quick search - the last post here gives a better description of the different modes of operation including 3 wire which I think is what you need.
    I think a momentary start button would start it and either a momentary (NC) stop button or NC limit switch would stop it. Just needs the parameters between P50 and P56 (whichever you are going to use) set to the right values out of the multitude of options.

    Many thanks for your advice, just read the link you sent to model-engineer and there are lots of advice/comments on there regarding these cheap vfd's.
