Hi
I am in the process of converting a Boxford 165 HMC to Linux CNC.
I have managed to identify the stepper motors, but am struggling with the spindle motor. I think it might be made by Lenze, it is a DC brushed motor.
I need to know it's current rating so I can set up my spindle drive correctly.
Does anybody have any old datasheets or catalogues by Lenze, or even better a Boxford 165 HMC with a label on the motor?
Thanks,
Paul Coleman

i suspect it will be a motor common with the vmc190 simiar size mahine and same eara
from memory 550watt at upto 180v
was powered by a lenze534 (Lenze530) speed controller
data sheet for the controller is on line google lenze530
I have this setup on my boxford vmc190 also running linuxcnc
cheers Paul

Hi Paul
I have one of these machines, and it is now converted to Mach3, or Linux cnc I will see if i can find the info for you re the motor as my dc motor failed live to chassis which wasn't good !! and the lenze drive unit failed... So I converted to a 3 phase motor and small inverter...
However attached drawing of the old motor with details.. did the drawing to see if i could find another motor but with no luck so went 3 phase!!!
Best regards
Paul
