Hi,
I bought a chinese 6040 and am quite impressed by it mechanically however it came with a very old hacked copy of USBCNC. I'd like to buy a copy of Mach 3 and run the machine with that but need some advice.
I'd really like to use USB or Ethernet rather than parallel ports.
The controller is a combined JP 3136B all in one board with parallel input, the machine came with a USB to parallel converter which works.
I'm thinking that to use Mach 3 and ethernet I need to junk the 3136B controller and buy a new bob and servo controllers reusing the existing stepper motors. Is that correct or are there other ways to achieve use of Mach 3.
Thanks
John
