hi my name denis
i have 2 boxford tcl 240
I would like to remove the spindle and put a classic drill bit for and a cylindrical piece to work with a bridle.
i took pictures. someone made this change?
when the old owner bought it they tried to do something, but it is incomplete. see attached photos.
know that it tapers and deltro the (sleeve) the tube to be able to put a support to put a tip.

That looks like it's got a camlock spindle fitted.
Given there's only 3 mounting holes, it'll either be a D1-3 or D1-4 - https://www.smalltools.com/lathe-spi...ication-chart/
It looks like the previous owner has fitted some form of manual collet chuck.
Once you've identified the spindle fitted, googling should find suitable chucks.Avoiding the rubbish customer service from AluminiumWarehouse since July '13.

It is likely that the spindle has a Morse taper in the bore. I have a D1-3 nose on my Colchester Bantam and this has a MT5 taper. If yours does have a Morse taper, you can buy a collet chuck eg ER32 or ER40. You will need a drawbar too but that should be simple to make.
These are widely available on ebay, Amazon and AliExpress
