Hi Folks, While reading and inwardly digesting every bit of information re CNC before I decide which way to go, I came across this ... Flying or Terrain following Head my question is what is the difference? My knowledge of Terrain following comes from low altitude flying in helicopters ... 'if you do not follow the terrain, you will not be flying as you will have come into contact with the terrain.

I think you are talking engraving.

The flying head is positioned in X, Y and Z

The terrain following head is powered on X and Y but rests on the Z, thereby cutting a constant depth even if the surface is sloped or gently corrugated.
