I think you are being a bit harsh.I say this because three weeks ago I was talking to a man who buys some machinery from China for sale in Europe and he described the huge increase in shipping costs in recent months.It is a problem that has been added to by the dozens of container ships waiting to discharge their loads at several ports around the world.This has led to a shortage of shipping capacity and the rates have escalated to the point where it is costing 8-10 times as much to get a container to Europe.The suggestion they gave for you to find your own shipping agent would have very quickly proved the point.I suspect that if you looked closely at the details of your initial contract there would have been a clause exempting the maker from changes in the cost of items outside their control.What proportion of the price of a complete machine would the additional $380 represent?
