Ok - here we go again!

With some semblance of a plan in mind i thinks its time for part II - or is it part I rehashed?

Anyway - Cartesian Style Build - sounds nice!

Basically its a WorkBee beefed up!

Lets see how it goes - pictures to follow soon!

So, just for clarity - some pictures of the workstation I have made for the CNC machine to sit on

The bench top is the main top, then another top that measures exactly 1000mm x 1000mm that the CNC frame sits on.

The CNC frame has then been fastened down to the top plinth and then i have cut the waste board to fit within the rails.

I have wired the motors and run those under the table top into the drawer unit - although I am not entirely satisfied with this option and may go for a dedicated side hung cabinet?

I have installed a Dell PC running Windows 10 Pro and a monitor and one of my BT Wireless disks from the house providing me with a great wireless network within my workshop.

For my controller unit I have opted for the Openbuilds BlackBox Controller. https://ooznest.co.uk/product/openbu...ox-controller/

I have purchased from Oozenest all of my wiring harnesses and limit switches, as well as the power unit seen in the drawer image on the previous post.

All of my gantry plates have been ordered from the US through an ebay store by the producer - Blue OX

The Linear rails have been purchased through Banggood and all of these are currently in transit - hopefully everything should be with me by the end of this month?

    Thanks

I would be interest to know peoples thoughts on the waste board and holding down work pieces?

I use a system called Microjig on my tablesaw and you can create any size of board with this sort of pattern on it

It would be quite a lot of work to create this on such a big board though -

Kind of answering my own question here - it depends on the size of signs etc that I want to create?

Also, works great on birch ply, but so so sure on MR MDF - due its strength of the different board types.

Or maybe just holes at 80mm spacing and some cam clamps?

Decided to go down the route of an extra side hung cabinet for the electrics and hopefully, the least dusty position in my workshop

It is something I was concerned about and the fan units of the power pack and controller unit pulling in too much dust. Even with all my extraction, dust is still an issue.

    Hi all

    Mediocrity here!!

Well, build is going well, hopefully just put in my last parts order in to complete my build.

It's starting to look a lot like the machine that I had envisaged. (looks very pretty )
