Hi all, Looking for links for suppliers in the UK, I need flexible 4 core double shielded cable for spindle, stepper drives and motors. I would like to use a orange, green or blue coloured cable, something different from grey or black. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks mate, I'm totally new to this, I've had a look but there's loads, you wouldn't happen to know what 4 core shield or double shield would be best for my application. I seen this stuff but way expensive from USA

Coloured cables will be expensive and not easy to find in UK, plus they all do the same job so save your money and spend it in areas which will make the machine better.

You don't give any details so difficult to recommend sizes but in general, you'll use 0.5mm/2 for signal wires in the control box, 0.75mm/2 for Limits, motors, etc, and between 1mm/2 and 1.5mm/2 for the spindle.
-use common sense, if you lack it, there is no software to help that.

Oh. I'm setting up for using cat7 solid core shielded ethernet for limits.
Think I'll have to do a little trial to check it doesn't burn up first before attaching to machine then.

I've used 0.5mm for control box (RS components, grey) and 1mm for steppers.
I think my servo is 1.5mm.

And yes. The UK is total crap or overpriced for supplies.

It won't burn up but it will fail at some point due to vibrations, not a good idea to use a solid core cable on any machine tool even if it's not moving there will be vibrations that over time will cause it to fracture the cable.

It's all I've got for now. I'll replace it at some point soon.
All switches are NC so if I get a break I'll know about it.

As for 4 core from Igus:

Stocking doesn't look that great there either. Seems about it from a brief search.

Get some normal grey and overcover it with coloured heatshrink.
