Oooof. That takes me back to 1981 when I took a year out before starting at uni. I had a job at ICI Wilton (remember them?) and I signed myself up for an evening course there in technical drawing (BS308 as it was then). Things have moved on a bit since then, otherwise in many ways that would be the predecessor of what you did. Glad to hear they are still in business and still offering good hands-on, vocational training!

I was staying at a B&B up the road in Saltburn at the time and I recall seeing Hurricane Higgins playing an exhibition match at the local pub, completely off his face but quite charismatic.
