Can anyone please let me know How to wire up an 8 wire motor to a stepper driver that is set up for a 4 wire motor. Thanks the wires from the motor are yellow, orange, black, red, brown, white, green, blue. . I have seen that to get the best out of the motor you need to give it lots of power. So what would be the best stepper driver for this. The motor is a 4 amp 3.5nm unit. Thanks
You need to find the datasheet for the motor so we can determine the correct wire sequences.
Best choice is to wire it in 'parallel' so 8 wires becomes 4 parallel pairs for a 4 wire driver.

Now personally, I would get a DM860T driver (110vdc/80vac) and run the driver on at least 80vdc. (or 60-70vac).
I have done this with my 1080oz/in motor.
I was initially using 60vdc but the jump to 80vdc saw a massive improvement.
Z axis on the mill rapids went from 2200mm/min on 60v to 3700mm/min on 80v and can get huge accelerations.
