Thread: Morse Taper 3 sleeve re-grinding
-
	25-04-2023 #1Hi all,
I have a full size floor standing pillar drill with a MT3 spindle "Kerry 100".
This is a very nice machine made in the 60's / 70's.
It works really well but the drill chuck or MT drill bit fall off the spindle once in a while due to some imperfections / damages inside the MT sleeve.
A re-grind of the female MT would fix this.

Anybody knows a company(ideally small business based in West Yorkshire) that could re-grind a MT3 spindle ?

 Thank you,
 RNR

29-04-2023 #2Not exactly local to you, but you could try 'Spindle Services Ltd' in Coventry.

I had a 3MT female reground for a lathe tailstock there - not too expensive and very pleased with the result.

	30-04-2023 #3Thank you Pete!
Interestingly enough, since I wasn't getting any replies (before yours) I started enquiries a bit further away from me and the only company who did Mt was Spindle Services Ltd. 😁
Do you remember how much it was?
PM me if you rather not post that in public.

 Thank you again!
 RNR
