    Well, I've finally gone and bought one. I went for the new Bambu Lab P1S with AMS in the end. Seems to have good reviews, and the X1C was considerably more expensive for what seemed like a similar machine (in general).

    Never used a 3D printer before, so here we go !

    Lovely job, straight out of the box!

    How much did it cost all in? At some point I will need to upgrade my little Cetus machine and Bambu seems to be the printer of preference these days.

    P1S with AMS (optional multi spool unit) plus one spool of filament was £909 delivered.
    Less if you don’t get the AMS but if you buy it later it is considerably more expensive.

    At the moment it seems to just work. Nozzle, flow, fans , speed, heating, priming etc all seem to be optimised for what you are doing. Then there is auto bed levelling and nozzle cleaning so there is nothing to fiddle with. Very impressed.

    After my first attempt at inserting a threaded insert did not go so well I had a look around at various the press tools out there. Here is my version:

    purchased one for my son at christmas , worked flawlessly out of the box ,he is using it for a school project and it is getting plenty of use. great machine , unfortunately he has not got the ams , maybe at a later date
