some pics of my setup , the manual button i have wired to a relay which controls a solenoid for the spindle toolchange,,, i also have it set that the relay is disabled when an m3 command is present so the tool cannot be manually ejected while running.

So, after checking out the images in more detail, I've decided I'm going to go for it tomorrow, I'm still waiting on some Cable for the ATC signal and Power side but I can prepare the Air/Pneumatic side and the relays. So I'll keep updating this thread with my progress. Thanks again to you both for your help so far

    Hello,

Yes I've done some bench testing of the relays, made a start planning out where to put everything in the cabinet and, I've received some Dragchain and cable this afternoon so I will need to get round to installing that too. I go away in aprox 3 weeks, I know it sounds a long time but i only have 3 or 4 hours every week to work on it, i would really love to have it set up by the time I go, or at least manually so I just press the button for tool release anyway...

i don't know if any of you could help me, I've got the Relay, working with my test Macro, it turns on and off 5 times with 5 second delay in between, the Relay lights up and I can see the LED on the UCBB light up also, but the Solenoid just sits there, I have air going to it through a regulator and when I use the Solenoid manual button it works fine, it just doesn't seem to work automatically with the UCBB/Macro....?

I've tried different wiring methods, but at the moment I've got the Positive Solenoid wire to the NO of the Relay and the Negative Solenoid wire to the COM of the Relay, then from the Coil - of the Relay I have the wire going to the UCBB Port1, Pin 1....

The relay doesn't power the solenoid, it simply acts a switch to control the solenoid.
You need to wire the solenoid in such a way that the relay is switching the power.
