I was starting my X3 recently and I'm not sure wha happened, but now it doesn't work at all.

There was a pop on starting, maybe also something not sounding right in the motor drive.
I checked the 5A fuse on the side of the mill column and it was black and clearly blown, but I then had a report from the house that an MCB had tripped there. Later I found out that an MCB had tripped in the workshop as well.

It turns out that there might have been some local atmospheric electrical activity (lightning) when I tried to switch the mill on.

I have replaced the 5A machine fuse and reset all MCBs, but the mill will not start.

Is it possible that if there was local atmospheric electrical activity, this has caused the mill PC Board to blow?
What do experience do you have of this?

Far more likely that the drive board has failed, causing the the fuse to blow and tripping the MCBs (might even cause a leak to earth, which would trip RCDs as well)

Depending on the X3 supplier (X3 is a fairly generic design, with a few different manufacturers, and each manufacturer offering customisation options for each buyer, so the actual spec varies quite a bit between suppliers), the spindle drive boards can be quite temperamental, and often release their magic smoke randomly.
